Danni Bangert, Potter
Grand Lake Art Gallery
Although primarily a functional potter, the "Dancing"
rock art forms left on southwestern canyon walls by early Native
Americans have always fascinated Danni. In recent years she has
been experimenting with a process called "salt sagger firing".
(Formed pieces are placed in a closed clay container along with
straw and salt and then fired.) This technique gives pieces a
look of antiquity. This process and a long time interest in petroglyphs
are a natural combination giving birth to a new series of work
called "Dancing Shamans". The pieces shown are her interpretations
of one of the rock art forms of the southwest....a happy representation
of things ancient but still revered.
These are figures Danni has created. Since
our selection changes continually, please ask what is currently
available. Pieces range from 4" to 12" tall and prices
range from $35 to $85. Danni's Grandmother fetishes and crones
are about 3" tall and cost $15.

Meditation Garden is 7" tall and 8"
in diameter. It is $75. Blessing the Earth is about 11" tall
and costs $55. Candlesticks are priced between $16 and $28. Ancient
Wisdom stands 16" tall and is $125.
Each piece will differ in coloring.
