Jeffrey Desautels
Jeff Desautels has lived in Colorado since 1974. He graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy, and after spending six years in the Navy as a nuclear submarine officer, he completed law school at Yale. He moved to Denver and practiced corporate environmental law for 21 years. Jeff now concentrates on painting landscapes and still life in oils.
Jeff has had a life-long abiding love of the outdoors and fell in love with the Colorado high country while in law school. He now paints and sketches outdoors and uses the experience to help capture the enduring grandeur of the high country-the ever changing color and light, and the resulting shifts in the "mood" of the mountains. He also paints scenes from his travels with his wife, Linda. Her gardens also offer inspiration, as well as floral accents for still life work.
