Bruce, a third generation native of Colorado, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Denver. After serving as an artist in the Air Force during World War II, he entered the banking profession, working for thirty years until his retirement in 1979. He has a home along the Colorado River between Granby and Grand Lake. Although art has been his profession since 1979, he actively pursued it as an avocation during his banking years. His landscapes and water fowl paintings are executed with detail, subtlety, excellence of feel for line and color, and thorough knowledge of the outdoors. Working only in watercolor, he believes that formative years in the outdoors shaped his love for nature and wildlife and provided him with a special aptitude to paint those scenes. Long a dedicated conservationist, he has served as a Trustee of the National Park Foundation Board, Washington D.C.. He was one of the early founders of Trout Unlimited, is a sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, and serves as a trustee of the Denver Museum of Natural History. |
